Loads of stuff going on at the club despite the on / off rain. There have been plenty of crafting activities from Aztec calendars to sand art, sewing and crazy wind up parrots. We have have managed to get outside and a giant den has emerged on the school field with very busy children spending hours building and re-building with branches and all sorts of junk materials found in the woods. We have 'cooked' grass soup, stick sausages and cardboard sushi to name but a few highlights, but I think the best was the real bread we made indoors. We have had a go at citizen science were we have counted the bugs and flowers around the grounds for the Polli:Nation project. We have climbed trees and dug holes and even had a go at wattle and daub walls for one of the dens! We have spent some time with the school chickens until they were collected for their own holiday on Mr Coleman's farm on Thursday. We have constructed miles of wooden railway and played many games of Top Trumps when the rains came. One big hit was the visit of Pets at Home and their snakes, locusts, giant snails, hamsters and rabbits. Once the grass had dried a little some children even took a rabbit for a walk on it's own special lead and harness around the school grounds! Now you don't see that in Haxby every day! See you next term, keep having fun......
