We spent several sessions talking about Remembrance Day while we drew, coloured and created for our display. We even made a giant poppy from the red Autumn leaves in our school wood. As it was the one hundredth anniversary of the end of the Great War much of the discussion revolved around trying to understand or imagine those events - which the children did very respectfully. Some club members managed to get to the local display of Haxby soldiers who fought and joined the service in the village.
