The school chickens are back from their holiday at Mr Coleman's larger run. They only went for a winter break but ended up staying much longer because of the avian flu problems. Now Haxby is no longer in a high risk area the chickens have returned - this time with a cockerel for the first time. If he's not too noisy and he does what the hens tell him to do he can stay!

Out of School Club children helped get the chickens settled in carrying them across the field, making sure the coop was clean, putting in plenty of food and water and giving quite a few hugs! We left the chickens happily scratching away exploring their home again. Well done all for helping and a big thank-you to Mr Coleman for looking after then for so long.
